Acceptance of these Terms
By accessing or using Privyn, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must have the legal capacity required under the laws applicable to you to agree to these Terms.
Development-stage service
The service available at dev.privyn.app is a development environment. Features, cryptographic implementations, storage formats, interfaces and service behavior may change as Privyn is developed.
Development data may be reset, migrated or become unavailable. You should not use the development environment as the sole repository for information that you cannot afford to lose.
Accounts and devices
Privyn uses account credentials, device identities and cryptographic material to authenticate users and protect communications.
You are responsible for maintaining control of your devices, passkeys and other authentication mechanisms.
You must not knowingly permit another person to impersonate you or use your account in violation of these Terms.
Acceptable use
You may not use Privyn to:
- violate applicable law or the rights of another person;
- threaten, harass, defraud or unlawfully impersonate another person;
- distribute malware, malicious code or content designed to compromise devices or systems;
- send abusive automated traffic, spam or unsolicited bulk communications;
- interfere with, overload, probe or disrupt Privyn infrastructure except where expressly authorized for security testing;
- bypass technical restrictions or access accounts, devices or data without authorization.
Encryption and security
Privyn is designed so supported communication content is encrypted by the client before transmission and decrypted on authorized client devices.
Encryption does not eliminate every security risk. A compromised device, browser, operating system, malicious software, stolen credential or compromised application delivery mechanism may affect confidentiality.
Privyn does not promise that the service is invulnerable, error-free, anonymous, immune from traffic analysis or suitable for every threat model.
Your content
You retain your rights in content that you create or transmit through Privyn.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to send, store or otherwise process that content.
Because supported message content is encrypted client-side, Privyn may not possess readable server-side copies of that content and may therefore be unable to recover it for you.
Service availability and changes
Privyn may modify, add, remove, suspend or discontinue development features at any time.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent retention of development data or compatibility with every browser, device or operating system.
Suspension and termination
Access may be restricted or suspended where reasonably necessary to protect users, systems or the service, to address abuse, to comply with legal obligations, or where these Terms are materially violated.
Privyn intellectual property
Privyn's branding, interface, original software, documentation and other proprietary materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Privyn may incorporate open-source software. Such software remains subject to its applicable open-source licenses.
Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the development service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
No warranty is made that the development service will be uninterrupted, free of vulnerabilities, free of defects, or appropriate for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Privyn will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages resulting from use of the development service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Governing law
Unless mandatory law applicable to a user requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kuwait.
Mandatory consumer, privacy or other legal protections that cannot lawfully be waived remain unaffected.
Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be updated as Privyn develops. When material changes are made, the updated date shown on this page will be changed and additional notice may be provided where required.
